A Beautiful Day

FEBRUARY 8th

We had a beautiful day that came out of nowhere. We had been having nasty weathered days, where it was windy and chilly.  Audrey came down to visit us for a few days. Unfortunately, the weather was just plain crappy.  But we still had a great time. We went shopping, talked a lot and played phase10.  We made her a Birthday dinner and baked her a cake.  Yes, we celebrated early since we wouldn't be able to see her on her birthday.  It was a great weekend. We were sad to see her go when she left to go home.  The day she left, the weather was finally nice.  I wish she could have stayed one more day, so we could take the kids to the park and go walking. But she had to get home to go back to work.  After she left, Aaron and I did some cleaning and organizing in the garage.  I had boxes to unpack, but was waiting for Aaron to put up book shelves.  He put those up for me and some other shelves, to put up our extra wood laying around. While we were doing our stuff inside the garage, the kids were outside having a good time.
Addison was entertaining the neighbors with "LET IT GO."  That's all capitalized because she was screaming it at the top of her lungs. lol

This is her doing a dance.

Alex and Booker walked around collecting rocks.

Taking a break to capture the scenery, of course.

Since Aaron already had his saw out from doing his projects, I asked him to do some touch ups on my project.  He started sanding it for me too. What a guy! lol

I will post photos when this project is done. :)

We have had super nice weather since this day.  Weird how winter just disappeared. I hope that doesn't mean we will get snow in July. I really want to grow a garden this year and I hope the weather doesn't effect us green thumbs.

Fun in the Tub

BATH TIME

Just another usual evening in the Lamb house hold.  Nightly bath with water splashed all around.  I decided to just take a minute and take some pics. Hayden was not wanting to take a bath with these two. So it was just Addison and Alex.

I'm about to get wet.

MOM"S bieng attacked.

Water bombed by both of them.

I had a lot of other cute and silly photos, but I can not post them..do to EXPOSURE... ha ha

Western Week In Elko

Western Week in Elko

Every year around this time, Elko has a Western week.  All the kids in all the schools dress up in Western attire. They also have a bunch of events that goes on around town. Cowboy poetry is a huge deal.  People come from all over to participate and listen.

Hayden had to wear certain things on certain days for school. This was hard, because she had nothing to wear that was western.  Luckily, Jenny had just given me a bag of clothes that had some western shirts in it. That was a relief.  But I was still lacking a hat, boots and bandanna for her.

Day 1
Monday was bandanna day. They were to wear a bandanna to school. I totally forgot and it was too late to go get her one.  It turned out okay tho, her teacher had a few extra's for the kids to wear.

Day 2
Tuesday was western shirt day. This is a shirt that Ava gave to her.

I had to go to the store and buy her a hat and bandanna later that afternoon.  I went to cal's ranch to find boots. Everywhere I went, I was lucky to even find anything. This town was just about cleaned out of western attire.

Day 3
Wednesday was cow boy hat day.

Day 4
Thursday was, wear your Boots day.  She was super excited about this one. She loves her new boots.

When she got home from school, she changed into a dress and danced around in her new boots all day. I was suprised she didn't sleep in them.  She didn't want to take them off.

 Day 5
Friday was, wear the whole outfit day.  She was totally excited for this day.

Some western hair do's we experimented with.

It was a fun week for me too. :)

The Schools also had chilli cook off's and buckaroo breakfasts. They even invited family and friends to join the students to eat.   Each grade did something different. Pretty neat, but next year I will try to be more prepared for this yearly event and go shopping before hand.
